Individuals who do not follow the Algonquin Commons Theatre house rules will be asked to leave the theatre immediately. The Algonquin Commons Theatre reserves the right to deny entry to the Theatre if it is felt that there is a risk of disturbance or disruption to other patrons, or to the Algonquin Commons Theatre staff.

  1. Food and/or drink of any form are not permitted in the theatre. This includes bottled water and reusable drink containers.
  2. For selected events at the Theatre, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages are available for purchase. Our staff is trained in the provincial Smart Serve Training program for responsible alcohol service. All guests will be required to show ID to purchase alcohol. Management reserves the right to refuse the sale of alcohol to any guest. Guests are not permitted to bring in alcoholic beverages from outside, and may not leave with alcohol purchased from the Theatre.
  3. Patrons must be seated in a designated audience seat, and must not block hallways or staircases at any time.
  4. Patrons are not permitted to switch seats during any events where seats are assigned, unless they are given permission by an Algonquin Commons Theatre staff.
  5. Patrons are not permitted to lean against or rest their feet on the theatre seats.
  6. All electronic devices are to be turned off during all events.
  7. Professional cameras, (i.e S.L.R), video cameras, and tape recorders are not permitted during any performance, unless prior consent from Algonquin Commons Theatre management is given.
  8. Please be considerate of those of our patrons with scent allergies and limit the use of perfume products while attending a performance at the theatre.
  9. Some events require a mandatory coat and/or bag check. Patrons are solely responsible for checking and picking up all associated personal belongings during these events.
  10. Lost & Found: Any personal belongings remaining at coat check or inside of the theatre at the end of an event will remain in the Algonquin Commons Theatre Box Office lost and found for 24 hours, after which time items will be brought to the Algonquin College Security office, located in C128, (613 727 4723 x5010).
  11. The public is not permitted in the technical booth, onstage, or backstage, unless previously arranged with Theatre management.
  12. Hearing Assistance Systems are available for patrons. Please check in with the Algonquin Commons Theatre Box Office for more information.
  13. The Algonquin Commons Theatre is 100% wheelchair accessible. We ask that persons requiring wheelchair accessible seating please check in at the Algonquin Commons Theatre Box Office, and when possible provide advance notice so we can better serve you.
  14. With the exception of service animals such as guide dogs, the Algonquin Commons Theatre does not allow animals in the theatre. A service animal is any guide dog, signal dog, or other animal individually trained to provide assistance to an individual with a disability.
  15. Any emergencies or injuries are to be reported to an Algonquin Commons Theatre employee immediately.
