The men had a tough go in their match against St. Lawrence, being held off the scoreboard by the Vikings, going down in defeat 27-0.
The men also squared off against the Knights, their game finishing with the Thunder taking a 34-11 loss. Aidan Corrigan connected on a pair of penalty kicks and Thomas Kump scored a try for the home side. If we had a player of the game award though, it would probably have gone to Tyler Beeching, who sacrificed his nose and jersey following a gnarly hit that left him dripping crimson. Way to take one for the team!
The Men’s Rugby team were also victorious over the Knights on Sunday, also scoring 45 points, while only giving up 24. Tries were scored by Mark Scholl (1), Aidan Corrigan (2), Mike Francis (2), Safwan Malik (1), and Nickolas Wodzak (1). Mark also successfully kicked four converts for Algonquin and Aidan added another. Boxscore
The men’s team also faced the Knights on October 1st, and their game ended with a similar result as they were defeated 8-31. Keith Girard scored a try for Algonquin and Aidan Corrigan connected on a penalty kick. Boxscore
