Started grappling in 1996. Formally training in BJJ for over 10 years.

Accomplishments and Credentials
Promoted to black belt in 2013 by Professor Felipe Heidrich, Ryan has competed at all levels of Jiu-Jitsu competition, as well as having 4 MMA fights under his belt. Ryan’s most notable competitive achievement was winning the 2013 IBJJF No-Gi Pans.

Growth and development. We support a culture of life-long learning and aim to provide the student with a sense of what their body and minds are capable of. We aim to foster a supportive and challenging class environment based on development of technique and movement. Team Ronin has gained a reputation for quality, developing athletes who have competed in such events as IBJJF Worlds, Pan-Ams, No-Gi Pan-Ams, Asian Open, Abu Dhabi World Professional Jiu-Jitsu, ADCC, and numerous other Canadian/US and regional tournaments. Our students have also successfully competed in professional MMA events, most notably the UFC.
